From new geared drives for crushing and conveying to AI-powered asset monitoring, Premium Transmission is aligning its portfolio with increasingly demanding equipment applications.

What key innovations, product range extensions, or solution highlights can trade fair visitors expect to see at your booth during bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026?

At bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026, we’re bringing our full range of power transmission and motion solutions, with the spotlight on geared motors, industrial gearboxes and application-specific engineering for demanding industries. Visitors will see our complete geared motor lineup — the established co-axial, parallel-shaft and right-angle ranges — alongside our newly launched Geared Drive Series, built specifically for stone crushing, material handling and conveyor systems. It’s a meaningful addition to our portfolio because it speaks directly to the heavy-duty needs of industrial customers.

We’ll also be showcasing our helical and worm gearboxes, fluid couplings, and power pack solutions engineered for bucket elevators, conveyors and other material-handling equipment. Just as important, though, is what’s happening around digitalisation. Our Asset Management System, powered by AI-driven processes, gives customers real-time data and insights that support predictive maintenance, better reliability and less unplanned downtime.

Put simply, our presence at the show reflects how we work: proven power transmission technology, engineering built around real applications, and digital tools that help customers get more out of their equipment.

How do you view the current demand for high-performance components and spares in the Indian construction equipment sector? What key market drivers are shaping growth leading into 2030?

India’s construction and infrastructure sector is entering a genuinely strong growth phase. The domestic construction equipment market is valued at around $7.91 billion this year and is expected to reach $11.78 billion by 2030, growing at roughly 8.3% a year. Zoom out further, and the broader mining and construction equipment space is on track to become a $45 billion opportunity by the end of the decade.

That kind of growth naturally raises the bar for components, spares and power transmission solutions. Equipment is working harder, projects are more demanding, and customers care less about the sticker price of a part and more about uptime, efficiency and total lifecycle cost.

Asset management and digitalisation are becoming central to that shift. Real-time monitoring and AI-driven insights let customers catch issues early, fine-tune maintenance schedules, and move away from reactive repairs toward a more predictive approach.

Looking ahead to 2030, continued investment in roads, mining, urban development and material handling, combined with growing mechanisation, will keep driving demand. Localisation and supply-chain resilience matter too, which is pushing customers toward locally engineered products backed by dependable aftermarket support. For us, that means helping customers keep equipment running and get the most value out of it over its full life, not just selling parts.

How closely are component manufacturers working with major OEMs to co-design and customise parts for next-generation machines?

That relationship has become far more collaborative than it used to be. As machines get more specialised and application-driven, OEMs need partners who bring real engineering input, not just a catalogue of standard parts.

We’ve built deep expertise in this area over 67 years in power transmission. Customisation has always been core to how we work. We sit down with customers to understand the actual operating conditions, whether that’s load, speed, space constraints, duty cycles or environmental factors, and engineer around those specifics rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution.

Innovation runs through all of it. We’re not only developing new products but constantly refining our existing range for better performance, reliability and easier maintenance. Our engineering teams work directly with customers to turn application challenges into practical solutions, with a strong focus on new product development and indigenisation.

Our ability to customise, engineer, and keep improving sets us apart. With manufacturing and engineering capability based in India, we can respond quickly to changing OEM requirements while supporting their own localisation goals. Ultimately, we don’t just want to supply a gearbox or geared motor. We want to be an engineering partner who understands the challenge and stays involved as the machine evolves.

What key technological advancements have you integrated into your latest product lines?

Our approach to technology is fairly simple. It has to help customers get better performance, higher reliability and maximum uptime. Anything that doesn’t move that needle isn’t worth pursuing.

Alongside our established geared motor range, we’ve introduced the Geared Drive Series — TAG, SMR, and Heliworm Geared Drives — engineered specifically for stone crushing and material handling. These reflect where we’ve focused our engineering: solutions built around the real, evolving needs of the construction industry rather than generic upgrades.

We’re also rethinking how we support products after they leave the factory. Premium Care, which we launched in 2019, gives customers a structured platform for multi-brand refurbishment, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance and digital asset management, delivered through our Multi-Brand Care Centres in India and abroad.

Bringing product innovation, engineering know-how and digital asset intelligence together lets us help customers spot issues earlier, make smarter maintenance calls, and get more productive life out of their equipment. For us, innovation isn’t just about launching something new. It’s about continuously making the product, and the asset it’s part of, better, smarter and more dependable.

How are your manufacturing processes and product designs contributing to fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, or circular economy practices?

Efficiency is baked into both how we design and how we manufacture. We focus on improving power-to-weight ratio, so customers get the performance they need without carrying unnecessary weight or burning more energy than they should. That translates directly into better overall equipment efficiency, especially in demanding applications.

We’re also using automation and AI in the design process to improve accuracy, optimise performance and speed up development. On the manufacturing floor, machine learning helps keep processes more consistent and spot patterns we’d otherwise miss.

Premium Care plays a role here too, by enabling repair, refurbishment and reuse of power transmission equipment wherever it’s technically feasible. That extends asset life, reduces premature replacement, and gets more value from equipment already in service.

Counterfeit or low-grade spares remain a persistent industry challenge. What measures or supply chain strategies are you employing to ensure genuine parts availability?

Making sure customers can easily get genuine, quality-assured spares is central to keeping equipment reliable. Low-grade or counterfeit parts might look like a bargain upfront, but they tend to fail early and end up costing far more in downtime and lifecycle expense.

We’ve built a strong channel partner network, so genuine Premium spares are available close to where customers actually operate, backed by our Premium Care network across India and the Middle East, with South Africa coming soon. Our Multi-Brand Care Centres also give customers access to genuine spares, refurbishment, and technical support.

Accessibility matters just as much, particularly for customers working in remote locations. We’ve made it possible to reach us through our website and the Premium Care app, so sourcing spares doesn’t have to depend on a nearby physical service point.

Our approach really comes down to one thing: make genuine parts available wherever our customers are, through whichever channel works for them, backed by Premium’s quality, engineering expertise and service support.
